I've used it pretty extensively in the past to merge tracks and apply trackpoint filters and stuff, it's pretty powerful, but takes a little getting used to. GPX Editor is a lightweight piece of software designed to help you edit GPS Exchange Format files. View gpx, kml, kmz, loc files, but get a lot more features. The 'Convert A File' heading at the top is probably what you'll find most helpful, but you can also interact with tracks on a map too with the 'Draw on a map' option.
